Diana Barry

Diana is Anne's best friend. She and her family live next door to Green Gables and their house is called Orchard Slope. The moment Anne meets Diana she is smitten with her. They quickly become bosom friends and kindred spirits. Both girls often get lost in their own fantasy world; full of romantic notions about love and friendship. They swear undying devotion to each other.

Diana is sweet and well mannered. She could be described as the perfect child.  Because of this she is not as imaginative or intelligent as Anne. She certain lacks the same independent nature that controls Anne's emotions and actions.
