Shoes for the girl characters!

If you do a google search and come across the website Tudor Shoppe they also have great shoes for sale. There are also costumes on the site but they tend to be anything from expensive to REALLY EXPENSIVE!!!

If you do decide to order a costume from Tudor Shoppe please do not order the Fleur de Lys Dress. I have ordered it for the Stepsisters, and I certainly did not pay that price! I managed to bid on two from ebay!!!!!

It always seems like we have all the time in the world and then suddenly we don't. After Easter break we will have one month left! It is also when rehearsals become more demanding and longer. Please pay attention to the blog! I suggest following it by clicking on the follow button on the right side of the page about half way down. It then should send you email's when I add a post.

I haven't heard much feedback about the costumes. If you are in need of help please let me know. If you think you found something I would love to hear about it or see it. Please remember, if your girl character is a ballroom dancer also, they need two costumes. One more common costume and one more elaborate or that suggests a ballgown. If you can only do one for them please try to make it a simple ballgown style. There are pictures on the blog but if you still need help I can try to point you in the right direction.

I will make the ballgowns for: Cinderella, Stepsisters and Stepmother. I have a costume for Godmother also.

Male Costumes

Here are some better pictures of male costumes. You can find a lot of these types of costumes online with a simple Google search. Try typing in renaissance faire or costumes. They range from $20 to $50 and up. Or you can try to find similar pieces at thrift stores.

Ballroom Dancers

Ok, I thought about it and decided that only the actual ballroom dancers need a "ball gown". The rest of the cast can wear the same costume throughout the entire play. So here are some idea's for a ball gown.

If you would like to sew your own this is a current simplicity pattern. 

The easiest option is to try to find something like this at a thrift store.
Then add sleeve or put a long sleeved blouse underneath. No modern colors please. 

Costume Ideas

These ideas are meant for all townspeople characters. For the ballroom scene I would like to have "fancier" dresses. I will post another blog for those.

First off, don't panic!!!!!!!! Some of these may look like I am letting the historical costumer in me take control. I assure you I am not. I am just including pictures of what the most ideal costume will look like. Please don't think they have to be perfect or even look exactly like these pictures. They are just to get you thinking.

Some male costumes that are very simple!

This is a picture of the step family but the simple costumes could be for any character.

Drama Club T-Shirt

Get your drama club t-shirt to wear on spirit shirt days or whenever you feel like showing off your involvement in the WORLD’S BEST CLUB (or at least one of the best!)
